Reversal of IRS Seriously Delinquent Tax Debt Certification
The IRS certified Taxpayer’s individual federal income tax debt as seriously delinquent under IRC Section 7345. Taxpayer was notified by IRS Notice 508C. DeWitt Law represented Taxpayer before the IRS and challenged the seriously delinquent certification. The IRS issued IRS Notice (pictured below) and reversed the seriously delinquent tax debt certification.
FL Dept. of Revenue Criminal Investigation Closed
Represented Taxpayer in criminal investigation by the Florida Department of Revenue for alleged sales tax evasion. Investigation closed and no criminal charges filed.
IRS Seizure of Taxpayer’s Home Prevented in U.S. District Court
United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida – The IRS filed suit in U.S. District Court to seize the Taxpayer’s home and collect over $500,000 in federal income tax debt. DeWitt Law represented the Taxpayer and negotiated an agreement with the Department of Justice (Tax Division). The tax debt was settled for $282,016.11 and the Taxpayer kept their home.
TN Dept. of Revenue Criminal Investigation Closed
Represented Taxpayer in criminal investigation by the Tennessee Department of Revenue Special Investigations Department for alleged sales tax evasion. Investigation closed and no criminal charges filed.
$313,821 Tax Debt Settled for $8,359
Represented taxpayer who owed the IRS over $313,821. Tax debt was reduced to $8,359 through an accepted offer in compromise.
